Insurance Coverage
I am an out-of-network provider. This means I do not submit claims to Insurance plans. I provide receipts for "professional services rendered." If your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, you may get reimbursed a percentage of my charges. Since January 2022, under federal law, out-of-network/self-pay patients are entitled to receive upon request a "good faith estimate" estimating the cost of services, including psychotherapy services, and how long services may last.
I am an "opt out" provider with respect to Medicare, but provide a "private contract agreement" so that you can apply for coverage with your secondary provider.
Some patients for whatever reason, prefer to use the mechanism of flex-spending offered through their employment instead of using their insurance plan.
I suggest that you speak with your employer's healthcare administrator or human resources department, your accountant, or your financial planner to see what you may legally use for medical deductions. Psychotherapy is considered to be a legitimate medical expense and a potential medical deduction.
